About the Research Group

The Intelligent Information and Decision Systems Research Group (IIDS Research Group) is an interdisciplinary research group hosted by the Information and Decision Systems Laboratory (LSIK), Department of Industrial Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Andalas.

IIDS develops and studies information, data, artificial intelligence, and decision systems that support evidence-based decisions and sustainable organizational performance. Its scope connects Industrial Engineering with information systems, analytics, decision science, and the organizational adoption of digital technologies.

Research Areas

Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning

Research on the adoption and application of artificial intelligence and machine learning in industrial and service systems, including predictive and prescriptive analytics, explainable AI, organizational readiness, and intelligent decision automation.

Data Analytics and Business Intelligence

Research on data mining, business intelligence, performance analytics, data visualization, data quality, and the capabilities organizations need to turn data into reliable operational and strategic decisions.

Decision Support and Decision Analytics

Development and evaluation of decision-support approaches using optimization, simulation, multi-criteria methods, and risk analysis to improve decisions under operational uncertainty.

Digital Health and Healthcare Analytics

Research on hospital information systems, AI and big-data readiness, technology adoption and use, healthcare analytics, and sustainable hospital performance, subject to appropriate ethics and data-governance requirements.

Smart Manufacturing and Industrial Digitalization

Research on data-supported manufacturing, artificial intelligence in operations, industrial digitalization, simulation, and the organizational use of emerging technologies to improve industrial performance.

Information Systems and Knowledge Management

Research on information-systems analysis, design, implementation, governance, and evaluation, together with knowledge-management practices that support organizational learning and digital transformation.

Planned Research

From Adoption to Realized Value: An Autonomy-Contingent Research Model for AI-Enabled Decision Support in Indonesian Manufacturing

Status: Accepted for presentation at ISITDI 2026 (Padang, November 2026). Research in progress — pre-empirical and instrument-validation stage.

This research investigates how AI-enabled decision support translates into realized operational value in Indonesian manufacturing. It examines AI use intensity, data-driven decision-making capability, and the role of different levels of AI autonomy in operational performance, including cost, quality, delivery, and flexibility.

The proposed model combines the Technology–Organization–Environment framework with dynamic-capabilities theory. The planned empirical study uses a firm-level survey and Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling. The model has not yet been empirically tested; data collection is planned for late 2026 through early 2027.

Tentang Kelompok Riset

Intelligent Information and Decision Systems Research Group (IIDS Research Group), atau Kelompok Riset Sistem Informasi dan Keputusan Cerdas, merupakan kelompok riset interdisipliner yang diwadahi oleh Laboratorium Sistem Informasi dan Keputusan (LSIK), Departemen Teknik Industri, Fakultas Teknik, Universitas Andalas.

IIDS mengembangkan dan mengkaji sistem informasi, data, kecerdasan buatan, dan sistem keputusan untuk mendukung pengambilan keputusan berbasis bukti serta kinerja organisasi yang berkelanjutan. Ruang lingkupnya menghubungkan Teknik Industri dengan sistem informasi, analitika, ilmu keputusan, dan adopsi teknologi digital dalam organisasi.

Mengembangkan Data, Kecerdasan Buatan, dan Kecerdasan Keputusan untuk Sistem Industri dan Kesehatan yang Berkelanjutan.

Bidang Penelitian

Kecerdasan Buatan dan Pembelajaran Mesin

Penelitian mengenai adopsi dan penerapan kecerdasan buatan serta pembelajaran mesin pada sistem industri dan jasa, termasuk analitika prediktif dan preskriptif, AI yang dapat dijelaskan, kesiapan organisasi, dan otomatisasi keputusan cerdas.

Analitika Data dan Business Intelligence

Penelitian mengenai penambangan data, business intelligence, analitika kinerja, visualisasi data, kualitas data, serta kapabilitas yang dibutuhkan organisasi untuk mengubah data menjadi keputusan operasional dan strategis yang andal.

Sistem Pendukung Keputusan dan Analitika Keputusan

Pengembangan dan evaluasi pendekatan pendukung keputusan menggunakan optimasi, simulasi, metode multikriteria, dan analisis risiko untuk memperbaiki keputusan dalam kondisi ketidakpastian operasional.

Kesehatan Digital dan Analitika Pelayanan Kesehatan

Penelitian mengenai sistem informasi rumah sakit, kesiapan AI dan big data, adopsi dan penggunaan teknologi, analitika pelayanan kesehatan, serta kinerja rumah sakit yang berkelanjutan dengan memperhatikan etika dan tata kelola data.

Manufaktur Cerdas dan Digitalisasi Industri

Penelitian mengenai manufaktur berbasis data, kecerdasan buatan dalam operasi, digitalisasi industri, simulasi, serta penggunaan teknologi baru dalam organisasi untuk meningkatkan kinerja industri.

Sistem Informasi dan Manajemen Pengetahuan

Penelitian mengenai analisis, perancangan, implementasi, tata kelola, dan evaluasi sistem informasi serta praktik manajemen pengetahuan yang mendukung pembelajaran organisasi dan transformasi digital.

Rencana Penelitian

Dari Adopsi Menuju Nilai Nyata: Model Penelitian Berbasis Tingkat Otonomi untuk Sistem Pendukung Keputusan Berbasis AI pada Manufaktur Indonesia

Status: Diterima untuk dipresentasikan pada ISITDI 2026 (Padang, November 2026). Penelitian berjalan — tahap praempiris dan validasi instrumen.

Penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana sistem pendukung keputusan berbasis AI menghasilkan nilai operasional pada perusahaan manufaktur Indonesia. Penelitian akan menganalisis intensitas penggunaan AI, kapabilitas pengambilan keputusan berbasis data, serta peran berbagai tingkat otonomi AI terhadap kinerja operasional yang mencakup biaya, kualitas, pengiriman, dan fleksibilitas.

Model yang diusulkan menggabungkan kerangka Technology–Organization–Environment dengan teori kapabilitas dinamis. Studi empiris direncanakan menggunakan survei perusahaan dan Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling. Model tersebut belum diuji secara empiris; pengumpulan data direncanakan pada akhir 2026 hingga awal 2027.

  • Model Kesadaran ESG dan Kebiasaan Lean–Green Mahasiswa dengan Analitik AI untuk Transformasi Kampus Berkelanjutan
    Penelitian Fundamental Reguler (Penelitian Kompetitif Nasional), 2026–2027. Tim lintas kampus dipimpin Universitas Islam Riau (Ketua: Gusman Nawanir) bersama Universitas Andalas dan BINUS University. Peran: anggota, penanggung jawab modul diagnostik AI yang explainable (machine learning, SHAP, dan segmentasi berbasis NLP).
  • Kesiapan Organisasi untuk Adopsi Big Data Analytics dan AI di Rumah Sakit Indonesia
    Penelitian doktoral di Universitas Andalas — integrasi perspektif penerimaan teknologi dan resource-based view, PLS-SEM dengan analisis multi-grup; pengumpulan data dan penulisan naskah sedang berjalan.
